PPN was created in 1998 after an incident involving offensive graffiti at a Piedmont school brought a number of concerned parents together to discuss how best to address school issues of this caliber.  Parents and a PMS counselor worked to develop a facilitator-training curriculum and launch PPN's first groups.  Over the next years, this PPN network of involved parents built an effective and reliable source of accurate information with support and encouragement for its members.  PPN leaders strive to avoid the potential for distracting and potentially damaging spin, rumor and conjecture while providing appropriate and effective forum in which to share and discuss concerns regarding the social and emotional development of our teens directly with the school administration.
